How to book a Scout Session, how the Antler Method runs from Scout to Cast, what work costs, and how to meet the herd in Medora instead of a boardroom.

The Scout Session

A Scout Session is the first working conversation, a walkthrough of where your business is, where it wants to go, and what is ready to change. You leave with a clear read on fit and next steps, whether or not we end up working together.

Send the form on the Scout Session page. We read every request and reach out to schedule the conversation, by video or, when practical, in Medora.

The co-founders, usually whoever is closest to the problem you describe. Jacob Hanson, Co-Founder and Chief Revenue Officer, works across political consulting, public affairs and business strategy. Garett Elwood, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer, builds the custom AI and automation systems. Micah Zimmerman owns and operates Amdak Productions and leads visual creative. Scott Hennen brings decades of broadcast and public affairs experience.

The Antler Method

One methodology for every engagement, built on how an elk's antlers actually grow: Scout, Beam, Velvet, Cast. We read the terrain before we cross it, build one narrow thing first, let it harden through real use, then extend what proved out. Grow. Shed. Regrow.

Scout is the audit, interviews, a walk-through of your real tools and handoffs, and a ranked shed list. Beam is the plan, scope, sequence and cost, every step earning its place before the next one starts. Velvet is the implementation, the work built and run live alongside your team until it hardens and carries weight. Cast is the review, measuring what the season returned, shedding what stopped earning, and setting up the next cycle to grow stronger.

Every project is different, so we don't quote a fixed timeline. Scout ends with a costed plan and an honest schedule built around your season. Some engagements wrap in a few weeks, larger ones move in seasonal milestones. The pace is set with you, not before we've seen the ground.

Yes. The Scout deliverable is a costed plan you own, and many engagements start and stop there. When you're ready to grow the next rack, you come back to the herd.

Pricing & engagements

Work is scoped after the Scout Session, once we know the shape of the work, the team needed, and the season we're operating in. You get a clear proposal with deliverables and assumptions before anything starts, and if scope changes you hear it from us first, not on an invoice.

Yes. The Scout Session costs nothing. We use it to understand the terrain before we propose a route, and if the fit isn't right, we'll tell you that too.

No. Our proposals list the deliverables, the assumptions, and anything we expect you to provide. If the scope changes, we discuss it before the budget moves.

Working with ElkHorn

Not at all. North Dakota is our home, and we travel where the work requires it. The herd's visual work has served projects nationwide.

Six solutions, each built on the same range experience: Signal Range for positioning, One Voice for Public Relations, media and communications, Open Ground for consulting and strategy, New Rack for custom AI, Visual Range for photo, video and drone work, and Open Frequency for radio and podcast. If it helps a business grow new capability and shed old friction, we're interested.

The founders do. You get the four co-founders in the room, not one account manager relaying messages.

Send the Scout Session form or write to info@elkhornsolutions.ai. Tell us what you're trying to grow and we'll take it from there.

Every engagement starts with a signed agreement and a statement of work that sets scope, deliverables, timeline and fees. Licensing and ownership of photo, video and written deliverables are spelled out in that agreement, including how we may show the work in our portfolio. Your information stays confidential.

Yes. Certificates of insurance are available on request.

Yes. We produce political and issue-advocacy communications in line with applicable disclosure laws, and we disclose potential conflicts and won't represent directly opposing sides on the same issue.

Within one business day.

Medora meetups

Medora sits at the edge of the North Dakota badlands, quiet, open, and impossible to mistake for a conference room. We think better work happens when people can see the horizon.

Of course. Video is standard and we travel for the right projects. Medora is our default offer for anyone who can make the trip.

Use the form on the Medora page. It is the same intake as the Scout Session, marked as a Medora request so we know you'd rather walk the badlands than sit on a call.
